This piece is part of the Awakening Series — a collection exploring the first gentle stirrings of spiritual awareness. You can view the full series here.
Approx. 24” x 16”
Awakening I explores the moment where the soul begins to open again — softly, almost imperceptibly — toward the Light. The composition moves upward, like new growth emerging from hidden depths. Layers of turquoise and oceanic blues create a calm, spacious presence, while delicate touches of soft pinks, yellows and luminous whites suggest renewal, hope, and quiet joy.
There is a sense of something stirring beneath the surface, gathering strength and breathing upward. Like light filtering through water, the colours shift and shimmer, encouraging slowing down, noticing, and resting in the gentle awareness of the Divine.
This painting forms part of my Abstract Realism Paintings collection, where intuitive mark-making and textured layers evoke the emotional and spiritual landscape rather than depicting a literal scene. It is a work for contemplation — a reminder of the light that calls softly, yet persistently, from within.
